How to Choose the Right Canvas Size for Your Wall
Share
Choosing the right canvas size is one of the most common questions we get, and it's easy to get wrong. A print that looks perfect on screen can feel too small once it's hanging on an actual wall — or, less often, too large for the space around it.
Start With the Wall, Not the Room
Measure the actual wall space where the canvas will hang, not the room as a whole. As a general rule, your automotive canvas print should take up roughly 60-75% of the width of the furniture beneath it — a sofa, sideboard, or desk.
Our Size Guide
Every design in our automotive art collection is available in four sizes:
30x45cm — ideal for hallways, small offices, or as part of a gallery wall alongside other pieces.
40x60cm — our most popular size, works well above a desk, side table or narrow console.
50x75cm — a strong statement piece above a sofa, bed, or sideboard in a mid-sized room.
60x90cm — best for large living rooms, open-plan spaces, or as a single dramatic focal point.
A Simple Rule of Thumb
If you're decorating above a sofa or bed, measure its width and choose a canvas that's about two-thirds that length. Above a desk, go smaller and more contained. In a garage or man cave with high ceilings, don't be afraid to size up — automotive art tends to read well at larger scale in utilitarian spaces.
