From Sketch to Wall: How a Roadelier Canvas Design Comes to Life

Every Roadelier canvas goes through several stages before it's ready to sell — and most of that process happens long before printing, in getting the composition itself right.

Starting With a Concept

Each new design starts with a clear idea of mood and setting rather than a specific vehicle — a rain-soaked night drive, a sun-drenched coastal road, a stripped-back studio silhouette. That mood guides every decision that follows: lighting, color palette, composition and level of detail.

Multiple Iterations

The first version of a design is rarely the final one. We refine proportions, adjust lighting and rework color balance across several iterations until the piece reads clearly both up close and from across a room — a very different test than how an image looks on a phone screen.

Checking It Against Real Interiors

Before a design goes live, we mock it up inside real room settings — living rooms, offices, garages — to check that it actually works as wall art and not just as a standalone image. A composition that looks striking in isolation doesn't always hold up once it's competing with furniture, lighting and other objects in a real room.

Choosing the Collection

Finally, each finished design is placed into one of our four collections — Cinematic, Minimal, Illustrated or Dark Series — based on its mood and style, so it's easier for you to browse pieces that fit the atmosphere you're going for.
